BRICS+ Fashion Summit
The BRICS+ Fashion Summit, which was held in the city of Moscow from November 28th to December 2nd, became one of the largest international events on the global fashion calendar. With its boundless potential and remarkable diversity, the Summit brought together fashion experts from more than 60 countries worldwide, including Europe, Asia, Middle East, Latin America, Africa, South-Eastern Asia and the CIS. Heads of fashion associations, founders of fashion weeks, content creators, lectures and designers shared their expertise with an international audience, eager to partake in this extraordinary Summit that simply couldn’t be missed.
The BRICS+ Fashion Summit astounded with its diverse range of events, designed to encompass various aspects of the fashion industry. The Business program boasted 40 sessions, featuring an impressive lineup of more than 200 speakers from all over the world. They addressed the most pressing matters in the fashion industry, including international cooperation, entrepreneurship, and technological innovation. Among the esteemed speakers were notable heads of fashion associations, such as Bench Bello, Founder of MIFW (Manila International Fashion Week) and Manila International Fashion Film Festival, Yang Jian, Executive Chairman of China Fashion Association, Alia Khan, Founder and Chairwoman of Islamic Fashion and Design Council (UAE), Paras Bairoliya, Senior Member of Board of Governors at Fashion Design Council of India, Mubashar Naseer Butt, Chairman of Pakistan Readymade Garments Manufacturers & Exporters Association (Pakistan), and many more.
The Fashion Shows were definitely another major highlight, featuring designers from 11 different countries. Against the backdrop of Moscow's historical buildings, these designers represented their countries and showcased their cultural heritage and artistic vision through their exquisite designs. Renowned brands like CHNNYU from China, David Tlale from South Africa, Lucas Leão from Brazil, The FDCI presents: riteshkumar; KHANIJO; Naushad Ali; Shruti Sancheti from India, Batakovic Belgrade from Serbia, Arzu Kaprol from Turkey and many more graced the runway, each bringing their unique perspective and innovative ideas to create an unforgettable display of talent and creativity.
In addition to the Fashion Shows, the BRICS+ Fashion Summit featured a 5-day showroom at the Parking Gallery in Zaryadye. This expansive space hosted over 130 brands and designers, including Argentina, Russia, India, Nigeria, Egypt, Turkey, South Africa and many others, attracting over 200 buyers from China, India and Russia and other countries. This setting fostered meaningful connections and long-lasting relations between designers, buyers, and industry professionals.
The 27-hour-long Fashion Intensive course integrated into the summit's framework, led by esteemed lecturers from renowned universities and international fashion institutions, aimed to empower attendees with the knowledge and skills necessary to thrive in the ever-evolving fashion industry. It is an incredible opportunity to learn from 37 esteemed academics and industry experts, like Gregg Maragelis, Head of Cape Town College of Fashion Design, South Africa; Gulbash Duggal, Dean of International College of Fashion, India; Priyanka Sarkar, senior management expert in the fashion retail industry, lecturer at EMDI, FAD, Middlesex University, UAE; Bediz Yıldırım, Founder of Bediz Co., Lecturer at Istanbul Fashion Academy, Oluwatosin Adelaja, Fashion Brand Development Consultant and Research Fellow at CIAFE, Nigeria; Tutu Jiang, Associate professor at School of Fashion Design of CAA, China; Olivia Merquior, Co-Founder of Brazil Immersive Fashion Week, Brazil and many others.
