Salima El Boussouni is "Best Designer in the World 2024"
By Teresa Mascarenhas
On June 8, at the Teatro Los Salesianos in Madrid, a significant international fashion
competition, MODAVISION®, took place, bringing together prominent designers from
various countries who competed for the title of
"BEST DESIGNER IN THE WORLD 2024"
MODAVISION® is a charitable movement with the motto "Fashion dresses in Peace"
led by the prestigious Spanish businesswoman Olga IF, who holds a Double
GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ title. She ranks 19th among the top 50 Spanish
designers and has been recognized as "Designer of the Year 2023" among other awards,
making her a role model.
This fashion contest was created to raise funds for a group of talented young people
with varying degrees of hearing impairment from special school No. 5 in Kharkiv
(Ukraine). Despite their physical, mental, economic, and political challenges, they strive
to overcome obstacles and seek peace through fashion. This is their main goal and
characteristic. Therefore, it was extremely moving to enjoy the collection by Sofía
Cherkashina and Katya Katlynskaya from this educational institution, made possible by
their teacher Lubov Moiseeva, who presented their collection.
Olga IF and her sponsor, ONDA DEL PLATA FM, have raised the necessary funds for
these young designers to travel from Ukraine next year and present their collection at
MODAVISION® 2025. Thanks to ONDA DEL PLATA FM and the funds raised during
MODAVISION® 2024, the plane tickets and accommodation for designers Sofía
Cherkashina, Katya Katlynskaya, their assistant, and an interpreter who will support
them at all times have been secured.
This event demonstrates the remarkable solidarity in our community and how effort and
dedication lead us to persevere in the fight, even in adverse circumstances, until we
reach our goal, as there is always someone capable of solving situations that are difficult
for us to manage on our own and contributes to the miracle.
Last Saturday afternoon, the Teatro Los Salesianos was filled with glamour and
elegance. The event featured many celebrities from the film, political, and music
industries, among others. Distinguished singer-songwriters like the Neapolitan singer
Gennaro de Crescenzo delighted us with two of his songs, "Luna Rossa"; and "Musica
per Napoli"; The renowned Granada dancer Jesús Fernández showcased his flamenco
art. Similarly, the contemporary dance company Carabdanza and María Arcos
(Coloured Mary), director and creator of Coloured Art Studio, immersed us in the magic
of real-time Body Painting, and more.
The MODAVISION® fashion contest opened with DJ Kepi, who was responsible for
playing music created by M.A.C Studio Production (Gibraltar). They had spent five
months composing the songs and musical themes that each designer presented with their
collection, in addition to composing the MODAVISION® Anthem, among others.
That afternoon was filled with genuine enthusiasm, excitement, creativity, and runway
magic, both on stage and among the audience. However, the most significant emotion
was when the jury decided who would be the best designer in the world. And so it was,
the Moroccan representative designer, Salima El Boussouni, received the majority of
votes from the live audience, being awarded the title of BEST DESIGNER IN THE
WORLD 2024. She captivated us with the magic and elegance of the Kaftan Skalli.
With many years of experience dedicated to fashion, her exceptional collection stands
out with tradition in all its splendor, arriving with a spring breeze of vibrant, unique, and
singular tones.
Additionally, the runway featured collections by Anna Sviridova, a Ukrainian
designer with over 20 years of experience. She showcased exceptional evening wear,
where red, black, and gold shone with elegance and delicacy.
Franciane Keiser (Luxembourg) presented a collection distinguished by the
remarkable combination of high-quality fabrics, diverse shades, and beauty. The models
displayed a very refined and attractive line in terms of footwear and hats.
Juliette Dubois Couture (France) showed her impressive and exquisite creation of
dresses, exceptional and very unique designs.
Ilona Szabó, a designer from Hungary, despite her physical absence at the event, sent
a video of her highly innovative, youthful, and elegant fashion collection that breaks the
rules, criteria, and established stereotypes, offering designs in various sizes that fit every
woman's profile.
Trico (Japan) delighted us with the elegance and fine craftsmanship of the culture and
art of an entire country. The color and delicacy of their Kimonos are the result of great
work that continues to blossom.
Alimac Design, a designer from Belgium, offered us all the trends of fashion with her
collection. A very vibrant, youthful, contemporary, and highly creative fashion.
And the German designer, Schirin Style, despite her young age (17 years), presented
very casual, colorful, powerful, and brilliant everyday fashion.
Also, invaluable contributions of MODAVISION® 2024 sponsors has played a critical
role in making an unforgettable celebration of creativity, solidarity, and fashion:

Olga IF did not cease to amaze us on that summer evening, showcasing her designs
under the "Imaginative Fashion" brand. Her professionalism and deep respect for this
art form of artistic expression, inspiring and motivating, lead us to a world as unique
and meaningful as fashion. Furthermore, she expressed her enthusiasm for continuing to
collaborate and direct the next edition of this wonderful MODAVISION® fashion
contest next year, which, thanks to the collaboration of this great sponsor, will feature
the stellar presence of these two young Ukrainian girls, who will finally be able to
present their collection in Spain.
