EXPLORE THE FUTURE OF FASHION, INNOVATION AND AI AT
THE HIGHLY ANTICIPATED 2024 EDITION OF NEXT IN VOGUE

SINGAPORE, 10 SEPTEMBER 2024: After its successful debut in 2023, Vogue Singapore returns with the highly anticipated second edition of its landmark event, NEXT IN VOGUE. Held on 16 and 17 October 2024, the event brings together global and regional thought leaders as they share insights on the future of fashion, beauty and culture through the lens of innovation.

Supported by Singapore Tourism Board and presented at iconic heritage landmarks The Capitol Theatre and The Capitol Kempinski Hotel, the multi-day event includes a conference, beauty masterclasses, a fashion exhibition featuring designs never seen before in Singapore, and a first-of-its-kind digital fashion showcase. 2024 also marks the first year that NEXT IN VOGUE will include a special regional focus by bringing together designers from Malaysia, Vietnam and Indonesia during the by-invite-only Vogue Singapore Gala hosted at The Capitol Theatre on 18 October.

“Vogue Singapore has always been committed to exploring the intersection between fashion and innovation, and their impact on the creative economy,” shares Vogue Singapore’s Editorin-Chief Desmond Lim. “NEXT IN VOGUE brings to life these pillars of Vogue Singapore while spotlighting Asian creatives and emerging talents who are establishing the voice for the next generation.”

With a special focus on regional fashion and design, NEXT IN VOGUE features five key activations:

1. NEXT IN VOGUE Conversations: The two-day conference explores the theme 'AI & I', investigating the impact of artificial intelligence on the fashion, beauty and creative industries and the importance of the human touch in this digitally evolving world.

Day one focuses on the interplay between emerging technologies and the future of creative industries, while day two approaches the topic through a human lens, examining how businesses, artists and leaders are adapting to rapid change.

Key panels include:

● The AI Revolution: Human Creativity Meets Artificial Intelligence: Industry experts, including Krista Kim and Cyril Foiret, will explore how AI is revolutionising creative businesses and reshaping the creative landscape.

● Crossing Divides: Where Digital Meets Physical: David Cash and Blake Lezenski from DFDC will dive into the merging worlds of digital and physical fashion, addressing the challenges and opportunities of interoperability.

● Friend or Foe: The Ethical Complex of AI in Creative Industries: This panel will explore the ethical complexities of AI's growing role in the creative industry, featuring insights from Deeps De Silva and Duncan Bass.

● The New Lens: How Technology is Transforming Fashion Photography: A fireside chat with renowned photographers Nick Knight and Calum Knight, discussing how emerging technology is redefining visual storytelling in fashion.

● Purpose-driven Leadership: A New Way Forward: Industry leaders, including representatives from Cartier, Longchamp and Levi’s, will discuss building inclusive, forward-thinking work cultures within the creative industries.

● Edible Futures: Imagining Food in 2050 presented by Forged: Where culinary visionaries and innovators explore the evolution of the food industry and potential dining landscape in 2050.

● Breaking the Mould: Unexpected Collaborations Redefining Fashion and Design presented by Royal Salute: A panel that discusses innovation emerged from unexpected collaborations between brands and creatives to challenge conventions.

Additionally, in tandem with the two-day conference lineup, Vogue Singapore will release a NEXT IN VOGUE Conversations podcast special, addressing topics in relation to the theme of ‘AI & I’. Powered by podcast production studio Poddster, the season will tap on industry experts in attendance at NEXT IN VOGUE and will feature key insights on key topics. Attendees can look forward to witnessing these podcast recordings live through a on-site podcast station in collaboration with Poddster.

2. Vogue Closet: Vogue Singapore presents an exhibition of red-carpet celebrity fashion exclusively by Asian designers, many of whom will be showcasing in Singapore for the first time. This curated collection represents a significant shift in the global fashion landscape, spotlighting the rising influence and creativity of Asian design talent on the world stage.

Exhibiting designers include the avant-garde Indian couturier Gaurav Gupta and Vietnamese designer Cong Tri, known for their acclaimed designs which have graced international red-carpet events.

Vogue Innovation Showcase: The Vogue Innovation Showcase, powered by the Digital Fashion Designers Council (DFDC) will present a trio of activations highlighting the best of fashion technology today. The showcases include:

● A first-of-its-kind hologram digital fashion experience by the DFDC in partnership with MAD Global and FUTURE FRONT ROW, making its debut in Singapore after launching at London Fashion Week.
● Cutting-edge augmented reality installations in collaboration with FFFace.me featuring Prada, Balenciaga, and other leading brands.
● A curation of immersive brand experiences showcased via live demonstrations on the Apple VisionPro, presented in collaboration with Cash Labs and Nomtek.

4. Vogue Glam Room: Designed for beauty enthusiasts and make-up aficionados, Vogue Glam Room offers expert-led masterclasses focusing on haircare, skincare and beauty. The masterclasses are presented by leading brands that include Kevin Murphy and SK-II.
