Edric Ong
Heritage Collection 2026
Edric Ong launches his designs for 2026 with the theme of “Heritage” exploring new and novel use of traditional handwoven textiles of Nusantara South East Asia. Attracted by the handwoven silk ikats known as “lippa sabbe’ of the lesser known Bugis people of South Sulawesi Island, Indonesia and also the special ‘Kain Songket Limar’ (combination of ikat and brocade techniques) from Sumatra, the designer has presented a new verve and style of their use in fashion.
The EO brand by Edric Ong is in the forefront of Eco-Fashion and Slow Fashion, consciously working with communities of weavers and crafts artists to create and market 'hand-made' designs. Based out of Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysian Borneo, the unique fashion of Edric Ong combines a touch of the ethnic and oriental with the contemporary; innovative styles with creative use of hand-woven silks and cottons.
He is a multi-awarded Malaysian designer of natural dye textiles, fashion and crafts having won the UNESCO-ASEAN Crafts Seals of Excellence Japanese “G” mark awards by the Japan Industrial Design Promotion Organization (JIDPO).
Edric Ong was named the “Malaysian Designer of The Year 2009” at the Mercedes-Benz/Stylo Fashion Awards in Kuala Lumpur and “Global Influencer” in 2016. He shows annually at London Fashion Week in 2022, 2023, 2024 & 2025. He remains in the forefront of Slow Fashion and Eco-Fashion in the Global Scene.
