Ceremonial opening of Serbia Fashion Week
An evening when fashion brought together Serbia and France in a spectacle of top talents
In a perfect combination of fashion, education and culture, this year's Serbia Fashion Week opened with a spectacular fashion ceremony at the French Institute in Serbia, which provided the perfect environment for the combination of fashion and education. This prestigious event, which has been attracting the attention of both domestic and foreign fashion public for years, did not disappoint this year either - on the contrary, it exceeded expectations.
The ceremony began with a warm welcome from the president of Serbia Fashion Week, Svetlana Horvat, who in an emotional speech briefly took the attendees through the history of this manifestation, highlighting its rapid rise on the global fashion scene. "The year 2024 promises to be particularly significant," said Horvath, "because Serbian designers, thanks to our long-term partnerships, are now becoming recognizable in fashion metropolises such as Paris, Milan and New York, while foreign creators increasingly choose Serbia as a platform for presenting their works." Svetlana Horvat pointed out that this year's edition of the National Fashion Week is dedicated to strengthening the institutional cooperation between Serbia and France.
The atmosphere was further enriched by the speeches of distinguished guests, among whom was Patrick Bouchard, director of the prestigious Lycée Albert de Mun, who thanked for the hospitality and expressed his delight that the Serbian audience will have the opportunity to see the works of his talented students. Stanislas Pierre, advisor for cooperation and culture of the Embassy of France in Serbia and director of the French Institute, did not hide his satisfaction that their space hosted such an important fashion event, while Snežana Janković, assistant secretary for contemporary creativity of the Provincial Government of Vojvodina, recalled the long-term support that this institution provides Serbia Fashion Week, highlighting the importance of fashion as one of the key segments of contemporary society.
The culmination of the evening was an exclusive show where the works of students from the prestigious fashion schools Lycée Albert de Mun and Ecamod Paris were presented. The audience enjoyed ten carefully selected models from the "Regeneration" show, held in the iconic Paris Grand Rex, while the show by the talented Faustina Lanthiez from the LISAA Mode Paris school further enriched the visual spectrum of the event. The audience had the opportunity to enjoy the models that perfectly depict the wealth of fashion expression of these young, talented students: from classic elegance, through French chic, to avant-garde creations that leave you breathless.
Judging by the reactions of the audience, this year's Serbia Fashion Week, which lasts until October 14, promises a fashion autumn that will be remembered for a long time, both for international cooperation and for the promotion of young talents who tirelessly build their place on the world fashion scene, as well as fashion shows designers from all over the world, which will follow in the coming days.
