ASEAN Fashion Designers Showcase (AFDS) was proudly involved in F8 Makassar 2025,
Indonesia’s renowned creative and cultural festival that celebrates the synergy of
Fashion, Food, Film, Fusion Music, Flora; Fauna, Fiction Writers, and Folk.
This year’s participation marks another milestone for AFDS in promoting regional
unity through fashion, highlighting the creativity and craftsmanship of two of its
Fashion Designers — Terry Yeo from Singapore and Erjohn Dela Serna from the Philippines.
Representing Singapore, designer Terry Yeo is known for his sophisticated, minimalist aesthetic
and architectural silhouettes that reflect precision, modernity, and elegance.
His designs embody Singapore’s metropolitan sensibility, seamlessly blending structure
with fluidity.
Erjohn Dela Serna representing the Philippines, brings forth a dynamic approach to
contemporary design deeply rooted in cultural tradition. His creations pay homage
to Filipino heritage through the use of indigenous techniques and intricate details,
reinterpreted for a modern audience.
Together, the two designers exemplify AFDS’s core philosophy of “One ASEAN, One
Fashion Community”, showcasing the strength of cultural diversity within the
Southeast Asian creative landscape.
“AFDS’s participation in F8 Makassar reinforces our mission to promote ASEAN
unity through fashion,” said Hayden Ng, Founder and Creative Director of the
ASEAN Fashion Designers Showcase. “By bringing together talents such as
Terry Yeo and Erjohn, we continue to highlight how fashion serves as a bridge of
creativity and understanding among ASEAN nations.”
The AFDS x F8 Makassar collaboration stands as a testament to the growing
prominence of ASEAN’s fashion ecosystem. It fosters cross-border partnerships,
strengthens regional identity, and celebrates the artistic spirit that defines Southeast Asia’s contemporary
fashion narrative.
AFDS was developed to raise awareness and appreciation for the unique style and
diversity in the Asean region while promoting greater cross-cultural and
creative collaboration. Growing mainstream regional awareness for fashion designers
and models while nurturing up-and-coming, local fashion designers and models
